TAKING ACTION AND NOT GETTING RESULTS ? LOVE, THE ECONOMY & CAREER!

posted Tuesday, 8 April 2008

There’s nothing worse than taking action to accomplish a goal, just to find your moving further and further away from it, and wondering why. It really doesn’t matter in what area of your life this happens, this occurs due to not knowing human behavior, having a poor strategy, possibly having mis-guided goals, and most importantly, NOT KNOWING YOURSELF.

The woman making a decision to get pregnant by a young man, she is interested in, thinking he will love her, and possibly marry her, in return, doesn’t know the behavior of many men, has a poor relationship strategy, with a goal that’s misguided since it’s based on deceit. This all says more about who she is as a person than it says about her love interest (and the reasons for it, too).

Unemployment is going up and we aren’t creating any jobs. The statistic regarding unemployment haven’t stipulated how they were also reflecting the employment of illegal immigrants, within our system, in their figures. Misleading to say the least. President Bush had a press conference yesterday finally recognizing the importance of small and medium size business in employment in this country. Small businesses alone hires more, employees, than big businesses do, yet Bush has been slow to address the issues of small businesses.

The problem is we need good paying jobs. Bush’s failed strategy for creating jobs has been to give tax cuts to the rich and big business, the last 7 years. This continues to be his strategy. Giving businesses money in tax cuts does not create jobs for that business unless the demand for the business’ products calls for new employees. So tax cuts without demand equals no jobs. Demand without tax cuts can create jobs. We are in a recession and demand is weak in most industries. Folks will not hire.

Demand has softened considerably for products due to low paying jobs, stagnant wages, the housing mortgage scandal that has affected so many homeowners who used their homes as a backup for needed money. In addition, job cuts are decreasing demand for products, also. These are not great conditions needed for hiring.

You either have to put some serious cash in the hands of consumers or put in jobs programs, for hundreds of thousands of workers, to work on a deteriorating infrastructure that’s a serious breach of our safety and security. Bush is totally against a jobs program, but the next President will have to entertain the idea and put it into action. The long-term plan for dealing with this recession is job creation – even if it has to be through the federal government.

Because there is strong demand for affordable alternative fuels, we need to establish big tax cuts, grants and less regulation for those businesses, to assist in getting them started in replacing our addiction to oil.

We find the same situation in dealing with one’s career, where many of us take career paths for which we have so little love. There is work we do, using it as a stepping stone to do the work we want to do. Many of us do work for the money it brings. With money as a goal we often overlook how we treat other people; co-workers, customers, management, family and friends. Each of these relationships effects the quality of your life. Once again, the Spiritual Law of Sowing and Reaping or Karma is in play, always.

In choosing a career, the more you base your career choices on the passions you have in life, the greater the fulfillment and happiness from your career. We all know the moneymaking component of the work we do, but we often ignore whether that work goes well with who we are as a person. When it doesn’t, illness, bad relationships and frustration may result.

What has transpired in Iraq stemmed from not knowing who we were as a nation (when it comes to war), greed for oil, a need by our leader for revenge, and to use his power to ransack the American treasury. This was done using fear as a tactic to get Americans to follow failed policies domestically and internationally. We’ve said it several times, YOU CAN’T GIVE SOMEONE SELF WORTH OR BRING DEMOCRACY TO ANOTHER COUNTRY. THEY BOTH COME FROM WITHIN! This is a lesson our political leaders are slow to learn. Are you?

QUESTION EVERYTHING!  THAT'S WHERE THE TRUTH RESIDES.

The unfortunate truth is that if you train for a profession it does not guarantee that you will get a job in that field.I would love to go back in to the professional field (that I am already trained for and love) but due to saturation I am unable to find a job.At times you have to suck it up and do what work is available.

Angela, the words we use are so important to how we think. Passions are much more than a profession. Passions are a way of life. They offer paths of varied happiness. Passions are full of fulfillment, happiness and joy. A profession can be deadended. Passions are open ended because they offer numerous possibilities for living and work. If one door closes, multiple doors open.
