LAUGHS FOR A MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND!

posted Saturday, 10 May 2008
          When I say I'm Broke -- I'M BROKE !!!
A little old lady answered a knock on the door one day, only to be confronted by a well-dressed young Man carrying a vacuum cleaner.

"Good morning," said the young man. "If I could take a couple of minutes

Of your time, I would like to demonstrate the very latest in high-powered vacuum cleaners."

"Go away!"

Said the old lady. "I'm broke and haven't got any money!" and she proceeded to close the door.

Quick as a flash, the young man wedged his foot in the door and pushed it wide open.. "Don't be too hasty!"

He said. "Not until you have at least seen my demonstration." And with that, he emptied a bucket of horse

Manure onto her hallway carpet. "If this vacuum cleaner does not remove all traces of this horse manure From your carpet, Madam, I will personally eat the remainder."

The old lady stepped back and said, "Well
Let me get you a fork, 'cause they cut off my electricity this morning.

Shopping with a Grandchild

AN OLD MAN WAS GROCERY SHOPPING WITH HIS GRANDSON. THE TODDLER WAS CRYING AND AT TIMES SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS.

AS THE OLD GENTLEMAN WALKED UP AND DOWN THE AISLES, PEOPLE COULD HEAR HIM SPEAKING IN A SOFT VOICE...

'WE ARE ALMOST DONE, ALBERT...
TRY NOT TO CRY, ALBERT...
LIFE WILL GET BETTER, ALBERT...'

AS HE APPROACHED THE CHECKOUT STAND, HE CAREFULLY BRUSHED THE TODDLER'S TEARS FROM HIS EYES AND SAID AGAIN, 'TRY NOT TO CRY, ALBERT...
WE WILL BE HOME SOON, ALBERT...'

AS HE WAS PAYING THE CASHIER, THE TODDLER CONTINUED TO CRY.

A YOUNG WOMAN IN LINE BEHIND HIM SAID, 'SIR, I THINK IT IS WONDERFUL HOW SWEET YOU ARE BEING TO YOUR LITTLE ALBERT.' THE OLD GENTLEMAN BLINKED HIS EYES A COUPLE OF TIMES BEFORE SAYING...

"MY GRANDSON'S NAME IS JOHN... I'M ALBERT."

That second one is oh so true. There are few things quite so wearing as shopping with a toddler who's having a major 'terrible two' strop.

BlackPhi, I was lucky with my son and grandson; never had that experience with them. A look was always enough to change the behavior. When I first started getting my grandson a weekend a month, he came into the house crying knowing his parents were leaving. Once they left, I looked at him crying and started crying the same way he was. He quickly quieted down and started looking at me as if to say, WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? From that time forward, there were no more crying scenes.

Now I'll have to see if this works with my spanking new granddaughter. ;]
