WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE ECONOMY? JOBS AND THE U.S. MINDSET!

Not just jobs in quantity, but jobs in quality. Meaning jobs with a good wage and decent benefits. In the short run, Bush forced Congress into delivering an inadequate bill for dealing with our recessionary economy. That bill shortchanged the working poor and the elderly who could use the assistance the most, but won’t receive any. In the long run, I think Bush is saving that part for the next president, because he hasn’t even spoken about it.

The tax cuts to the rich and big business was supposed to produce jobs according to Bush. He, and a number of Americans are under the impression giving rich folks and big business money, translates into creating jobs. THIS IS A MYTH, CREATED, TO ALLOW FOR THE GREATEST RIP OFF OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE IN OUR HISTORY.

HOW ARE JOBS CREATED – Most jobs are created out of the need to maximize the amount of profit one can make from the demand for a product. In order to meet that demand efficiently (to make profits), one must have a certain combination of employees and equipment. The more demand for the product, the greater the need for employees to meet the demand.

To meet the great demand for the product a business is selling, that business will take the receipts to a bank to show it can back the loan it requests to hire additional workers. This is an example of how a business grows and how an economy is built from the bottom up.

HOW IS AN ECONOMY BUILT? – An economy is built through enough demand for product enabling business to hire new employees, who then contribute to the economy through their demand for more products which creates even more employment. We haven’t seen any semblance of this in the economic atmosphere Bush & Co. have created for this country.

HOW DID THE TAX CUTS AFFECT JOBS IN THE U.S.? - The tax cuts for many businesses have been used to take those jobs, they may have created here, and move them, along with their businesses, OVERSEAS (CHINA) – on your tax dollar.

The rich followed their financial advisors and investing their tax cuts in oil, war contractors and companies involved in the military industrial complex. Plus, they invested in the Republican Party, in the same way they are investing in the Democrat Party, now – an attempt for business to continue to rule.

Our political leaders, big business and the rich seem to be fine with bringing down the wages of Americans to meet those of the rest of the world. They also demagogued trial lawyers (who protect you from the abuses of big business), unions (which helped to build the middle class in the U.S.), and regulations which set a standard for product safety and labor relationships.

HOW DO WE TURN AROUND THE CURRENT ECONOMY? - Those rebate checks coming out the end of April, the beginning of May, will be a shot of adrenalin for the economy if they were used on products MADE IN THE USA. Otherwise, very few jobs will be created. America’s greatness has stemmed from the size and buying power of it’s middle class. The political leaders and big business has fought to decrease our wages. This does not lead to a good economy, and we’re seeing this today.

THE MISSION IS TO CREATE GOOD PAYING JOBS! THIS WILL ONLY HAPPEN WITH A JOBS PROGRAM BASED ON FIXING THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE COUNTRY. BUSH WILL LEAVE THIS TO THE NEXT PRESIDENT, NOT UNDERSTANDING THE IMPORTANCE OF GETTING THIS GOING SOON.

We spend $12 billion per month in Iraq. With just one month of that money, we can create close to 350,000 jobs at an average of $35,000 per year to repair our bridges, tunnels. electricity grids, railways, roadways, waterways (aqueducts), etc. It’s obvious the war in Iraq is keeping us from investing in America, the way we need to, instead of supporting a failing effort in the Middle East. For all the improvements Bush says have happened in Iraq, the cost to us in lives and treasure continue to grow on a per month basis for years to come.

Alternative energy is one of the economic bubbles benefiting this nation, creating a number of jobs, we can develop out of the necessity to become energy independent. The biggest obstacle to this is the oil lobby, which would love to run this whole scenario out until folks are bidding for the last drops of oil.

Who wants to wait for those days? A country that’s a leader would lead in seeking alternatives to the hilt, to keep the population from being in dire straits, later. The main culprit responsible for the high price of oil, now, is the speculation of more war and the wars in which we’re currently engaged that could disrupt the flow of oil. Bush’s wars and threats of war have hurt the American economy with high oil prices. But isn’t that what you expect of an oilman. Money over country!

Big business and the rich, out of greed, are killing the goose that laid the golden egg – the American middle class. We’re still in a position to be a leader even with trade agreements that make it easier for American businesses to set up bases overseas to use cheaper labor.

Americans have to think smarter with respect to letting their representative and senators know how they feel about what’s going on. Let them feel the heat; the lobbyists certainly do. Citizens have to be smarter and more responsible about the products they’re buying. Why are we buying the products of folks who would take your job for cheaper labor elsewhere? When does our self worth kick in? Why would you buy from businesses that disrespect you? I’m not talking about being an isolationist. The behavior of big business has been dishonest and abusive in taking our tax dollars to move our jobs and their businesses elsewhere. What makes these businesses American? Where is their patriotism? Why should we reward them?

The growth and spread of illegal immigration into so many industries regarding skilled labor within the United States is causing a serious displacement of American workers with illegal immigrants. This has caused greater unemployment (sustained, and doesn’t show in the statistics) as well as the under cutting of salaries and wages of U.S. citizens.

With greater enforcement of our laws on employers hiring illegal immigrants, we can improve the wages of these lower paying jobs and those of the middle class with a balance of bringing in a new evolution of equipment to assist labor in producing this work for greater profits. Not a continuation of the illegal and exploitative tactics these companies engage in to maintain a certain profit levels, with no responsibility for the bills Americans pay for social services these folks use.

Business no longer wants to invest in our education of children to become workers for their companies. They rather go to other parts of the world seeking that education at a much cheaper price. We, as Americans, have to stop looking for Big Daddy to take care of us. Those in power have used that relationship to RIP US OFF! WE’RE ADULTS, AND MUST BEHAVE LIKE ADULTS.

A Self Discovery curriculum in our schools nationwide is key to insuring our children have a future for their dreams. The way things are right now, an American education is worth about as much as the American dollar. Let’s use the cards we’ve been dealt. Starting businesses here in the U.S. means our products are much cheaper to the rest of the world, due to the cheap dollar; meaning our businesses can do well on the global market. There’s no reason not to be producing in the U.S.!  This builds our economy.

Just like energy independence will make us safer and wealthier as a nation (because our money would pay for energy here instead of the Middle East), so does producing our own food, shelter and clothing. These are national security issues we are ignoring at this time so big business can make money. We need more competition, not a systematic tamping down of it. Note: Fewer and fewer banks and outrageous banking laws and bank lending abuses!

THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE IN OUR NATION AND GOVERNMENT STEMS FROM HOW MUCH CHANGE WE ARE WILLING TO MAKE IN OURSELVES. SITTING ON THE SIDELINES IS NOT AN OPTION.
