Even President Bush has had to give in to Barack’s ideas on foreign policy after having taken a position of derision and naivete against him in recent times. Bush has followed Barack’s lead in talking to our enemies and now setting a timetable for bringing our troops home from Iraq. For a gentleman who lacks so-called experience, he’s shown a better sense of organization, a better vision for how to get things done, and most of all, a better sense of good judgment when compared to more seasoned politicians.
I often say, IT’S THE SEASONED/EXPERIENCED POLITICIANS THAT HAVE GOTTEN THIS COUNTRY INTO THE MESS IT’S IN. The housing mortgage scandal, illegal immigration, high oil prices, a record national debt, a never ending war, an economy on the brink of depression, high food prices, decreasing buying power, low paying jobs, a healthcare system that’s a sickcare system, free trade (not fair trade), an erosion of our Constitutional Rights, etc. comes from poor judgment in the decision making.
There's an old expression that says, KEEP YOUR FRIENDS CLOSE AND YOUR ENEMIES EVEN CLOSER. For some reason, these gentlemen who claim to have so much experience, have no idea of this concept.
First, Bush told us we shouldn’t talk with our enemies – especially Iran. Even called Barack’s idea to have talks with Iran an act of appeasement. So after berating Barack while he was in Israel for wanting to talk to Iran, guess who has elected to engage in high level talks with Iran? First, it was Israel, and now...you guessed it – our beloved President!
When you think about it, Bush has been doing things ass backward since he’s been in office. This is the first administration in the history of this nation that has decided to give tax cuts at a time of war. He’s the second president to believe you build an economy from the top down (supply side economics, more like voodoo economics) instead of from the bottom up (through demand side economics) producing the greatest deficit in American history. Ronald Reagan, the previous president to use `voodoo’ economics as a fiscal policy, left us with the second highest debt in American history. And John McCain thinks continuing this policy will eventually give us a different result. He's right! He knows nothing about economics.
We were attacked on 9/11, and instead of maintaining his focus on the culprits who did this dastardly deed, he allowed himself to be distracted by invading Iraq (a country that had nothing to do with 9/11). You could call it a case of attention deficit disorder. Ass backward? You betcha! Now we find the situation in Afghanistan/Pakistan region is worse than ever with Al Qaeda and the Taliban reconstituted in the region exhibiting power with which the U.S. is having difficulty dealing. Barack Obama has been calling for more troops in that region (a surge) since campaigning for President. Bush has just started to see the need for this, along with John `The Surge Be Working' McCain.
He vowed to uphold our Constitution, but has effectively curtailed the Constitutional Rights of U.S. citizens claiming it was necessary to keep us safe. Ben Franklin said, THOSE WHO WOULD GIVE UP THEIR RIGHTS FOR SECURITY, DESERVE NEITHER. Bush has weakened every department established to protect the American people (Justice Dept., Food & Drug Administration, Labor Dept., FEMA, Federal Communications Commission, Federal Aviation Agency, Homeland Security, etc.). He’s opened our border to illegal immigrantion at a time of intense terrorism and a high volume of violent drug & human trafficking. The U.S. government has always been a friend of Amnesty International, the Red Cross and other organizations who look out for the welfare of prisoners of war. Bush’s Administration, not only has made these agencies out to be unfriendly, but has engaged in practices of torture, while lying about it to the American people and the world. He’s made the status of the U.S. similar to that of the former Soviet Union and Communist China.
Barack Obama has said that as president he would establish a timetable for getting out of Iraq. Bush and the Republican presumptive presidential candidate, John McCain, have claimed setting a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq was naïve, reckless and dangerous. This morning’s headline states Bush is willing to set a timeline for withdrawal. What helped this along was the Iraqi government. They wants us out of their country some time soon and refused to sign an agreement allowing our troops and contractors to continue to run the country with impunity. Nuri Al-Maliki, the President of Iraq, will not sign any agreement giving the U.S. power over Iraq past early next year. I have no doubt that he wants to wait for the next administration.
John McCain has taken a stance economically and militarily, that’s very similar to George Bush’s. He staunchly believes we should not talk with our enemies and that we need to stay in Iraq until we have victory. Bush has changed his mind on both of these ideas, leaving McCain to swim out there in the political ocean by himself. If Bush finds going the route according to the ideas of Obama may be fruitful, he’s showing through behavior that the old ideas of engagement are not working. What does this say for a McCain candidacy?
The most significant thing about what’s transpiring is the fact that EXPERIENCE MEANS NOTHING WITHOUT PROPER JUDGMENT AND BARACK OBAMA HAS BETTER JUDGMENT THAN GEORGE BUSH AND JOHN MCCAIN, HANDS DOWN!
It’s time to have a president that’s engaged with the world, knows something about human behavior, believes in our Constitution, and is computer literate. IT’S TIME FOR BARACK OBAMA!
QUESTION EVERYTHING! THAT'S WHERE THE TRUTH RESIDES.
